The Public Prosecutor’s Office requested the interception and recording of telephone calls from three
cell phones used by Robert James Queriol Eveleigh Murat..
From the file presented, it appears that the investigation of facts likely to
of integrating the commission of a crime of kidnapping, p. and p. by article 160, no. 2 of the CPenal, which is punished with
prison sentence of 3 to 15 years. Pursuant to the provisions of paragraph 1 of article 187 of the CPP, the interception and recording of calls
or telephone communications may only be ordered in relation to, among others, crimes punishable by
imprisonment exceeding, at maximum, 3 years in prison.
Now, from the elements contained in the case, it is clear that Robert James Queriol Eveleigh
Murat allegedly made telephone calls from cell phones with the numbers 911 948 359, 914 168 557 and
918 224 078 before the disappearance of the minor Madeleine Beth McCann and, likewise
way, at a later time.
It appears, therefore, that ongoing investigations depend to a large extent on the content of
telephone conversations initiated by the aforementioned suspect, whose interception is considered to be appropriate and
proportional to the purposes in evidence here (discovery of the truth and acquisition of evidence).
In view of all that has been stated, under the provisions of articles 269, no. 1, al. w). 187th and
188th. all from the CPP; I determine that:
1) telephone conversations made to and from the mobile phone numbers 911 948 359, 914 168 557 and 918 224 078 are intercepted and recorded, as well as the latest IMEI’s given to you
are associated, in accordance with the formalism required by article 188 of the CPP (for which
compliance will be within a period of 10 days);

2) the respective telephone operator is requested to provide detailed billing for such numbers, the registration
trace-back, cell location and IMEI identification of each of the numbers identified above.
